Computational Scientist

On behalf of a client in the Oxfordshire area we are resourcing for a Computational Scientist

We're looking for a talented professional to join our team and contribute to exciting projects in asset information extraction. In this role, you will:

  • Develop algorithms to extract asset data from imagery, LiDAR, and GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) data.
  • Play a key role in enhancing and maintaining our internal Python-based software.
  • Handle computational tasks, including signal and image processing.
  • Combine data from multiple sources to generate valuable insights on railway conditions.
  • Work with large-scale datasets to support machine learning applications and perform in-depth data analysis.
  • Contribute to team discussions and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with a skilled and driven team to tackle daily challenges and follow established protocols.
  1. Requirements

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Master's degree in mathematics, computer engineering, machine learning, or a science-related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Python programming.
  • Experience in image processing techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A proven track record of collaborative programming, including experience with version control (Git).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in signal processing.
  • Familiarity with ground penetrating radar (GPR) and LiDAR technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of neural network architectures and deep learning principles.
  • A background in geophysics is a plus.
