Job Title: Windows and Linux Infrastructure Engineer
Contract Type: 3-Month Contract (Hybrid Working)
Location: London Office and Local Datacentres
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and support Windows Server and Windows Desktop OS, including Group Policy management.
- Administer Linux servers, transitioning from CentOS to Ubuntu.
- Manage and maintain VMware ESXi, VCenter, and OpenStack KVM virtualization products.
- Handle server hardware installations and configurations, including Dell, HP, and Supermicro.
- Develop and maintain Bash scripts, and utilize GIT/Ansible for automation and configuration management.
- Provide support for Office 365 and Microsoft Teams environments.
- Apply strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to issues.
- Document and maintain network configurations, including IP Routing and BGP EVPN.
Essential Skills:
- Extensive experience with Windows Server and Windows Desktop OS installation, support, and Group Policy management.
- Proficient in Linux server administration, particularly with CentOS and Ubuntu.
- Expertise in managing VMware ESXi, VCenter, and OpenStack KVM.
- Hands-on experience with server hardware, including Dell, HP, and Supermicro.
- Strong scripting skills in Bash and experience using GIT/Ansible.
- Solid understanding of network switching and routing, particularly IP Routing and BGP EVPN.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and quick-thinking skills.
- Experience in supporting Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.
- Strong documentation skills.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of MySQL database management.
- Experience with Apache and Tomcat web servers.
- Familiarity with backup systems such as Veeam or Arcserve.
- Strong understanding of networking hardware, including Cisco and Juniper.
- Knowledge of BGP and other routing protocols.
- Experience with firewall management and security protocols.
- Familiarity with Linux OS security hardening.
- Understanding of ISO27001 standards and IT Service Management (ITSM) practices.
